We met Marc Peeters, General Manager of Sodexo's Vending Division.He explained the project to us. 


Through the new system developed in Odoo, we recovered approximately 10% of the revenue lost in the old system.

The purpose is to establish a centralized system to manage the vending machine department. This business unit includes approximately 50 employees and is tasked with renting vending machines (including hot drinks, cold drinks, and snacks). 
Each month, Sodexo's customers read the meters several times so that invoices can be prepared accordingly. 


 


What is the business requirement?    

Before Sodexo started using Odoo, they used 14 different software and databases to run their operations. This proved to be a daily headache for the company. After a quick market research, they considered Odoo the best option to meet their needs—running operations with a single software and improving productivity. 

The Odoo system has been up and running for less than a year.Sodexo has standard needs (for invoicing and accounting), and specific needs (vending machine management, contract management, and meter reading) that were easily developed and applied by Idealis Consulting. 

What business applications is Sodexo using?

Sodexo vending machines have a variety of applications, including:

  • Profit Center Management
  • Contract Management
  • Product Management
  • Procurement
  • Stock
  • Issue invoice

They also synchronize Odoo with Optimum (a system for managing tags, meter reading, and money bags). Synchronization is essential for invoicing meters, as it allows comparing the amount in the money bag with the theoretical sales. 

What was the result?

Thanks to Odoo's help, Sodexo's revenue was losing 10% in the original old system, mainly due to poor detail management.Odoo helped them avoid invoicing errors and create invoices that customers can easily understand. 

In addition, the time spent on month-end settlement is decreasing, and Sodexo has launched a new sales management process that is more effective for businesses. 

Seeing the success of the vending department on Odoo and its ease of use, Sodexo will begin switching from SAP to Odoo for certain business applications!
